Private Security Camera System Incentive Program | ovsjg (dc.gov)

Program Summary

The Private Security Camera Incentive Program encourages residents, businesses, non-profits, and religious institutions to install security camera systems on their property along with registering them with the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD). Participants can use the rebate program or if receiving public assistance, use the voucher program, for a free camera system.

How does it help?

Security cameras improve communities in many ways. The presence of cameras can prevent people from committing crimes. Because of this, cameras can help residents feel safety. If crime does occur, the cameras can assist law enforcement with investigations.

How much is invested?

The program provides up to a $200 rebate per camera installed at a residential address with a maximum rebate of $500.  Other eligible addresses (non-residential) are eligible for up to $750 in rebates.

Who uses this program?

The program can be used by any District resident, business, non-profit, or religious institution.
